Engine paint...again

Hi folks

Skorpion engine is now on the bench and frankly looking a bit sad. Crank case and covers have held up quite well after 19 years of neglect but barrel and head paint is shot.
Barrel and cases appear to be identical colour and I have found Honda Urban metallic a very close match. Problem is I am getting conflicting advice on what can or can't be used on the barrel. One sprayer mate tells me 2K with a certain type of catalyst will do the job. Another says solvent basecoat with laquer over will do. I don't want to use VHT or the like because, well, it will look crap. Any definitive advice would be most welcome.
