Baggy wiring problem for digital speedo (Koso DB01R)

:smt006 Hi all, I've just fitted a Koso DB01R digital speedo to my 03 Baggie as per the instructions (a piece of pi#s I thought). All went well until I tried to start the bike, for some reason the side is now controlling the neutral light, with the stand down the bike will not turn over and the neutral light is on, lift the stand and the neutral light goes off and the bike will turn over???? I know the neutral light and the side stand switch both run through the same relay but I don't know how to solve my problem. The O.E. wiring had two wires to each idiot light but the digital speedo has a common earth so only reqiures one wire to each light. Any tips from electrickery boffins would be much appreciated. Cheers. Chalks.

could be your hooked to wrong side of light
with the pick up wire and not making the relay 30 work correct
need to see the drawing for the speedo if you can scan it in as a jpg

Na that would be too easy  I've tried it from both wires but no joy, from the other wire the neutral light stays on permanently. I've even tried wiring the old bulb inline in case it's a resistance issue.

just reading yer post again it is wrong bro.... the neutral lighter has Bl wire, and RT /SW.... the RT/ SW wire is positive, and the neutral switch has one wire with the other side going to ground to make the lighter work... you will have to rewire the neutral light innit... item no .25 on the drawing is earthed.. so the other side has to be positiver

the side stand switcher and the neutral lighter are not related... the side stand switcher looks as thougher. it goes througher the start switcher and is series with it... so no worries with it there...

Dave sorryy.....

are you referrring to the baghira diagram posted.. as it is relay 14 starter relay, and 19 stop relay... item no.30 is a diode 30a...

would i be rite in saying that the only reason for relay 19 is for the side stand switch, and stop switch on handlebar...... and as i have my sidestand switch shorted out i could do away with it.. and i think the relay also disables power to the CDi.. pin.. no.. 5 off relay 19 goes to B+ on the ignitor unit.. plugger x13a item no...13... so this effectively turns power off to cdi and cuts the motor.. so i could wire that to the stop switch on handlebar.. i want to ditch the stop relay.. dont see any other reason for it...????

on the drawings there different numbers 19 on 125cc and i think 30 on an other

on the above drawing its number 19

there is a green wire in the mix that goes to the the side stand sw
when the neutral is on it gets grounded

and i need the drawing for the aftermarket speedo cluster (uk english the NEW CLOCKS)

Thanks Dave, I think it must be something to do with the resistor (31) or the relay (19).

P.S. I know the new neutral light if functioning correctly before it's connected to the O.E. loom as the light comes on when the white wire coming out of the digital speedo is put to ground. :(

i think the white wire goes to the neutral switch on the transmission
it may get confused if you try to use the mz interlock switches and diodes
the pin on relay 19 where the green wire hooks must ground for the bike to run
this thing and the diodes may make it not work

i am getting an idea of how the relay 19 works but have not built the whole mess on the work bench
and sorted out just how it all works
as short on time to do that
plan on doing that when i retire as this relay has been a problem on both my bikes
leaving me at the road side digging in my tools for the bypass jumper several times

Problem solved! It turned out to be a faulty neutral switch despite it working fine before I swapped the instrument panel. I still don't know how the neutral switch affects the side stand though, even when I put the wire from the neutral switch to earth the light stayed on and the relay clicked ? ? ? I think it might be a case for Mulder and Scully. Thanks for your help Chaps.
