Good grief!!!!!!!!!

But isn't that what (understandably) happens in a market-led economy when a single supplier of scarce parts effectively corners the market?

Of course, canny owners (like most of you lot) give Graham's a suitably wide berth when confronted by silly numbers like this, and use identical/similar/suitable parts that fit from other bikes/variants. That, and you make your own cables/bolts/spacers/wiring/brackets/etc and modify your bikes to use more modern bits ...........

The really scary thing, to my (tiny) mind at least, is that there are obviously enough people out there with a sufficiently skewed brain:cash ratio to pay Graham's prices. That alone makes such naughty pricing worthwhile. :?

For me, half the fun of running obsolete machinery is keeping them running while circumventing the parts pirates. It's much more satisfying setting up and running your own lathe/welder/workshop/spray booth than spending the money surfing the internet for scarce parts - not to mention cost effective.

******************************!!!! that's got a name - it's profiteering  Two Hundred and how much for a brake disc? new theory is that why there are so few Skorps left, break em and sell good bits for half of their prices?

Another thought is to learn what parts are Yamaha, what are KTM, and what are specific to MZ.

Recently I went to Fastenal (maybe spelled right?) to see if seat fasteners or passenger peg bracket screws (the original type with a flange to duplicate the originals to make my modifications look stock - OK, IT'S A SICKNESS...) that could be found outside of MZ, no luck...

I'll keep looking even after I call Graham's for the parts I need / want.

I want to see Graham's success, as I hope the best for everyone that perpetuates what I think is good, (a brand that's not even available in this country anymore).

I also hope that the current owners of MZ might see this web-site and consider the modifications that owners have done to encourage them with their product line development choices. Hey, I'd love to see an MZ that has a 700 raptor style engine mated to a YZ style chassis. OK, how about 70hp weighing in at 250lb with BBS 17s and getting 60mpg on pump gas... OK I digress.

I'd also have to add, after some thought, that what countries do with their currency affects what things cost.
Print more money...
The currency is devalued...
Food, gas, motorcycle parts cost more...
Just focus on what you can do, like the thread that talks about the gear issue to keep your cases from being damaged and enjoy a great MC!... Focus and build on the good.

Digressing again (Just from the heart & don't waste much time on my simple thoughts... ride!),
