baggy won't start

Hi,
Have been rebuilding a baghira over the last year. Was an unfinished project on the bay when I bought it, but most of it was done and only the wiring and the plastics need to be finished. Last year, after buying a new coil it fired up first go. Left it for a couple of months and it wouldn't start. Finally bypassed the neutral wire which was corroded on the nut under the front sprocket by earthing it on the frame and it turned over. Today, connected the battery up and nothing. The lights work, but nothing when I push the starter button. Does anyone have any ideas. I did check the sidestand switch but this was ok. What other electrical parts do I need to check to get the starter motor to turn? Thanks in advance
Tony

1.your battery may have enough for lights, but may have a bad cell.
2. solenoid : try jumping the terminals...see if you have 12v at the starter wire when u hit the switch, may also have a bad switch..make sure it is in the "run" position...
give these a try

I'll second the battery thought. Leaving a battery sitting for a couple months without trickle charging is a good way to send it south. Unless you've trickle-charged it and then i'm just full of... :-D

my rt125 is fussy about starting if its set for a few days or weeks
i have to drain the carb and squirt a shot of gas into the engine intake in front of the carb
it starts and runs enough to get the carb filled and working then it goes ok

the big problem has been the safety relay 19 on some mz relay 30 on others
it part of the side stand and kill switch neutral lamp wiring
the rotax powered saxon tour does not have it

almost ever time i have a start problem ..its bad fuel or this relay
