She's Alive!!

Fired up my Baggy this afternoon, and took a blast around the block, then over to Starbucks... Feels great! The eBay AGM battery seems to be working just fine (in spite of it being a BikeMaster chinese import...), and all the rust was knocked off the rotors. She runs great!! A bit of popping on decel, but it has a custom exhaust, so i'm not too concerned about it.

Next will be the KTM/IMS foot pegs, a 520 gold DID chain, and a set of sprockets. After that, I'm going to fit some fatbars, and I'll look to replace the tires--and maybe get the suspension re-done.

These things do suck up money quickly, don't they :-D

Yes, they can....

But the results can be priceless!

reduce your cost by riding with good "cent's" no wheelies no stoppies and no speeding

and above all NO FALLING OFF

in my area the SM style bikes seem to draw the coppers attention fast

Now where's the fun in that?? LOL! I hear ya', Dave--having just recently hit 40, I'm a bit more tame and reserve my wheelies for when no one is looking (My Buell XB12SS likes to honk that front wheel...). But I have to say, part of the allure of this Baggy is being able to jump curbs, etc. I won't do any stoppies or speed (much), so we're good there :-D

Kevin, thanks for a great deal on a great bike! Yeah, I was anxious to get her back on the road. Doing a few things at a time, and just enjoying the process. Thought it would be a bit different than working on my Guzzi (a V11 Sport) or m Buell, but, uh, not really... Lol!

Hey edec, yep... I'm in the Eagle Rock area. You're not too far from GMR. That's an excellent Baghira, or in my case, Mastiff road.

I've been a longtime lurker here. I've got a 96 Mastiff I bought new.

...and I am ridiculously close to GMR... We should ride soon. Kevin, still have my number? Maybe Edec can PM us his, and we can set something up. Kevin's Mastiff is nice, BTW-- good looking bike, but not as good looking as a Baggy... 8) :smt005

YEah, I know... We were suffering through a blistering 72 degree day today... I tried hard, but couldn't find one cloud in the sky today... :-D

Here's a view from my office:

A few days ago, though, we actually had a few menacing billows:

Is that what they mean by "bitter cold?" Lol. Beautiful, though. And probably makes spring that much more welcome. Around these parts, people breakout the NorthFace winter gear when the temps dip below 60F.
