Camloc for tank

Postby pod35 » Thu May 16, 2013 10:36 am

A couple of days ago I decided to remove the tank to investigate the thermostat mod that Bill posted. I had a look around and then decided to put the tank back on. That was fun....not. It took nearly an hour  . (Eventually I discovered that I had the tank rubbers upside down.) Anyway I remembered that Bill also posted about using a draw latch to fasten the tank. Brilliant idea, so I made a plate for the tank and went online to try and buy the Camloc V934L  . No-one in the UK seems to have them so I emailed the distributor in Belgium. He just rang me with a quote for 1 latch and one hookplate...............€263.65 :smt005 . When I had picked myself up off the floor he suggested that if I sent him a £50 note in the post he would send me one.
I have looked on the web and can't find a latch that small, can anyone help me with a suggestion as to where to get one without selling a kidney?

Thanks Bill as always your help is invaluable. When searching for a supplier I used the term 'draw latch' as that is what camloc call them. A good friend pointed out that, in the UK at least, 'toggle latch' is the usual term. I searched for that instead and have found plenty online. Prices range from around £3 to £6. I should learn to do more research before clogging up the forum. :)
