Skorpian 660 Sport Cup 1997 (pic heavy)

Postby maxknuckles » Sun Jun 23, 2013 9:28 pm

Just picked it up a couple weeks ago! First bike, never heard of them and just learning. Pics and stuff I have done (shop has done) will update periodically when more stuff happens. A week into it my fuse blew, small oil leak, and my bike wouldnt start.

Image

^First day I bought her. $2200 USD, you can see a giant whole in the M4 exhaust, need to replace that. There was a small oil leak, about it.

Image

^Had custom tail light, assumed it broke and parts arent available here in the US, if anyone has an original I would love to buy it. Looks good but just not flush.

Image

^In the shop to fix pipe and figure out electrical

Image

^15 fuse blew most likely because of shotty electrical set up on new light. Fixed and cleaned the wires setup! You can see the tube that connects to the rear of the oil tub, that was the one that was leaking, just an old oil tube that rotted through at one part.

Image

^beefy guage setup with 30 amp fuse so know more blowing them

Image

^new leo vince pipe set up, sounds great, hard to find a used one that would fit, this one was a little bigger but the guy cut it a bit and squeezed it on. The mid pipe which I believe was stock is 2inch in diameter. A new one cost around $300 this one cost $40 for the pipe and $40 install pretty lucky find.

Image

^just another pic of the other side

plan on not modding her, just when something breaks just up grading if I can't find the original part. OIl leak was fixed just one of the tubes coming out of the engine, believe and over flow tube connected to the top of the oil tub.

I am still a NEWB with motorcycles but I am learning and so far glad I bought this!

bigger fuse a is bad idea
next time you will see smoking wires when something shorts out
15 should do fine
12 volts X 15 AMPS = 180 watts
head lamp is biggest user at 1/3rd that
on this bike any thing over 12 amps
is usually called a short
or the starter motor working

Keep he tail light....no it is not stock but trust me (I know) the stocker falls apart, first the lense, then the mounting screws,....I got tired of gluing it back together cause it doesn't hold up.
That light you have is metal framed, and looks fine,,,,the install on yours is very clean....The light is made by EMGO and is a Lucas clone...easily replaced for about $13 from Dennis Kirk and other places.
I have one and its been on for about 5 years with no problems.....not even a bulb....
