Does anyone make replacement tanks and bodywork for Skorpions? There is nothing wrong with mine but I sort of want to customise a bit but leave the originals in mint condition.

I have the original tank from my bike. The paint is starting to peel and crack in a few places but I would consider boxing it up and shipping it for the right price.

It may pay me to make up some moulds using my totally original and perfect set as templates. Happily all the new generation fibreglass is developed locally for our Americas Cup and other racing yachts so is easily available here. My '94 Skorpion just turned over 20,000km from new yesterday.

I'll take $100 plus shipping and will provide the key for the tank since I'm not using my keyed ignition anymore.

That's ok. Can you box it, figure out how much the Post Office will charge for postage and send me your bank account number so I can put money in it. I have been following your project with great interest. The advantage I have now is no-one knows what an MZ is so I can build pretty much anything and no-one will argue.

Paypal or you can send me a money order and I will ship as soon as I have it in hand. If either of those work for you, let me know and I will get back to you with a total.

Paypal is fine. I'm registered with them. If you can sort out the shipping cost to Portland Oregon and add that, I will pay Paypal. NZ Post run a cheap airfreight service from Portland.

After pulling the tank out of storage and wiping it down, I wanted you to see it before I go and box it up. I'll also have to clean the gasoline smell out somehow. It's still pretty strong. The tank has that Acerbis universal petcock so you won't have to worry about flow rate, but it does face forward in instead of to the side.

And the bottom. It was my daily driver so it's got plenty of miles on it.

Yeah. Thats good for what I expected and want. I want to totally do it up and play with the colours. My next door neighbour is a professional car painter. Mine is in new condition so I am not going to do anything apart from preserve it.

Hi Victor,
The tank arrived okay. It cost me NZ $275 in freight so that will absorbed by the business. I found a carbon fibre fender that fits and will head down to the fairing shop when the weather clears. I am still undecided about what color to paint it all at this point. With the weather being crap, I will polish up the exhaust and carry on with the crash bar I made on my tube bender.
Cheers
Simon
