I took my 2003 enduro to the motocross track right after I got it and broke some spokes in the rear wheel. I hope to run a dual sport event in September. Here a picture of the wheels I have for the baghira: 2 sets of mags, an 18x21combo with dual sport tires, and an 18x21 combo with full knobbies. You can do just about anything with a Baghira....

Yepp! That's the skidplate, it was knocked of when I hit a rock hiding in the grass. The four 6mm bolts holding it just snapped.

I took mine out on a endurotrack and broke three "Spokeheads", and one spoke -on the front wheel... On the backwheel, the spoke just keeps on breaking too (even when we only riding on the dirtroads) :smt021 I have replaced some spokes but they just keep on braking all around the wheel. Now the bike is like an roalercoaster to drive :-(

Does anyone have a solution to this :?:

DonĀ“t know if I want to take the bike on to any long real offroadadventures if the wheels keeps on breaking :x
Is there any other spokes that fitts the Baggys 21"/18" wheels by the way?

The Baggys are to low under the enging to take on to any serious offroad driving (sadly), and the seat is almost to high (have tipped over because if it when the legs just seems to be to short on the tracks  ) hmmm...

Nice pictures Anders-MZ :D

I have had similar experience with breaking spokes. Replacing the broken spokes only lasts a while. The last instance was on the road in a bad cross wind caused a couple of spokes to break, about 2000 miles from home. I put the mags on the bike, which are great for road riding. Then I relaced both 18" rear wheels from scratch, I did one wheel, a buddy did the other, I haven't had a chance to test them. I got the spokes thru a MZ dealer, took about 2 months, and half the spokes were the wrong length. It is always the same spokes that break, the inner shorter ones. I don't know what the solution is. :?

Hell..

I love my SM but sh!t, the thing just doesn't have the clearance and it's way too heavy to do anything serious in my opinion. I could imagine getting "Stuck" a lot.

lucky me both my RT and SAXON TOUR have alloy wheels
and the BMW R75/2 i am building will have a set of R65 alloy
wheels
i built wheels in the 50's 60's dad repaired bicyles
and i did wheels for bikes and motorcycles
if a rim is bent its hard to keep spokes in it
:D

At least I am not alone with this problem
Does the front wheel from the KTM LC4 Enduro from the 90:s fit the Baghira Enduro(same fork -right?)? They seems to hold for the real Offroad Adventures....
The back wheel, hmm any clues?

The Baghiras that where in the Dakar/Baja rallies must had better wheels than this....

yes, the front wheel from any 45mm magnum forked ktm will fit right in.
I bought a rear wheel on e-bay, it is off of a KTM "desert" 500 or something. cush drive hub, 18" hoop, it fits right in with a 5mm spacer for the brake side. i need to figure out the brake rotor, but the sprocket lines right up. I paid $75.00 with shipping.

It would be interesting to see what they used in the Paris Dakar. I wish the Baghira came with wheels like the Honda XR650L, - straight pull spokes, strong and easy to replace.

Getting an extra set of wheels doesn't have to be expensive. The front wheel off an XT600 is the same except for the bearings. I picked one up with a dented rim on ebay for $9USD.

Phlat,
Did the 18" rear wheel fit with the shorter HR swingarm? Or did you have to switch swingarms too?
