Skorpion Sport riders seat pad

Part of my seat locking assembly appears to have disappeared.

Due to problems with my two stroke I thought i would simply resurrect the Skorpion for a trip to North Wales next week.

When checking the battery i found.that the seat pad came off a little too easily. The securing mechanism appears to have gone awol and i can't find a diagram or photograph of how its meant to work and what is missing anywhere.

Can anybody please assist.

PS. This also means i shall be putting two nights winter camping equipment on the Skorpion for the first time.

Unfortunately I don't have my bike to hand as its in storage but I do remember the catch. If I remember from memory the seat has a locating pin which goes into a crossbar on the frame and the latch has a simple straight piece of metal as a spring with a hook shape on it mounted on to the frame with two m6 bolts. It's all operated with a piece of string as you'd know.

Your correct Tigcraft. The nut likely rattled loose and it fell back but is likely hanging there since it has the string holding it.

Don't keep that from taking it north. The seat will sit in the right location with your own body weight. I ran one of my Sports like that for 7 years.

Thank you gentlemen, sorted the problem.

I also took the opportunity to reverse the clip on bars for a slightly comfier riding position.

Now just have to adapt some of my luggage to carry what I can. I have plenty of winter camping local kit but it tends to be a bit bulky.

Can I have a pic of your reversed bars and how they fit the fairing? Cheers Eric

Shall do, I'm going to try a different pair of handlebar muffs this morning. The ones i put on tend to blow into the brake and clutch levers so shall do it when they are off.

Swapping was a fairly simple job BUT you will have to drill new holes for the switchgear locating pegs. It is a job you really have to get right first time, i recommend a spring loaded centre punch. Also be aware that the holes are different distances from the ends of the bars.

Clearance is just fine. Bit of fine tuning before nipping up on the bolts is all that is required so the levers don't quite touch the fairing. The fairing braces weren't a problem.

I do sometimes think i should have a gone for the Tour mind. More bar options and much better headlamp, better for luggage too, just not quite so pretty.
