Building a racebike

Picking up this Skorpion from a friend and going to build a racebike.

I plan to go with these race fairings:

Ending up with something like this. Different paint and unlikely to go with Ohlins forks

I have several questions:
    Are near-perfect original fairings/mirrors/etc worth enough to warrant selling them? Though I am unlikely to ever put the bike back to stock, if a fairing set is only worth $200 I'll just keep and store them.
    For the forks--the plan is gold valve emulators and a respring. Assuming a swap is even legal for AHRMA SOS1/2 classes, is there a straight forward fork swap?
    Are there good rear shock suggestions?
    Are any aftermarket header/exhausts available/recommended? Main objective is to save weight.
    Speaking of saving weight, does anyone make an aluminum rear subframe?
    Which wheels are relatively straightforward swaps? If possible, at 4.5" or 5" x 17" since there is a lot better selection of 160 than 150 tires.
    The front caliper mounts look like 40mm and I thought I read that the Grimecas take the Brembo pads. Can I just bolt on a Brembo 40mm caliper?
    Are any aftermarket rearsets available?

And just for general interest, my other current bikes are a Ducati 996R, ex Jimmy Adamo 851 racebike, '97 900ss, '91 ZXR750R K1 (homologation), Honda NSR250, and a Derbi GPR50 (75cc). This MZ build will not be half-assed.

SZR660 Paioli forks work very well as stock with Brembo brake. SZR wheels pretty light too

The only bolt on shock I could get my hands on was a modular JRi shock that my local suspension guy put together for me. Can't provide any info other than that. It's just a series of shocks they put out that had a variety of parts that could be swapped out to match for length and yoke type.

As for exhaust, the only one available that I'm aware of is the Projection Components header and mid pipe. http://www.projection-components.co.uk/ ... -210-p.asp

If I had my choice of wheels, I'd have put the Marchesini's on but was able to find some SZR660 wheels and have them powder coated for about half the price. If you go the SZR route, hard to find, you'll need the brake caliper plate too, even harder to find.

I had to build my own subframe. Cut the parts out myself and had someone weld them out for me.

Front and rear calipers are compatible with widely available Ducati components.

Racetech emulators installed in my forks work great but I'm no racer. I think if you are dialing them in, they take a little more work than clickers, but you can get them working really well if class rules require stock(ish) forks.

Regarding the wheel conversion (in the USA) - there is a set of Laverda Strike wheels on FleaBay in the SF Bay area. If I'm note mistake these are the same as the Replica wheels including the same front and rear disk!

I've successfully mounted Replica wheels on at Sport with a no modifications to the rear (same disk and brake carrier) and on the front by removing the two disks and installing a late model Ducati on the right side.

If someone is in the need they should check it out.

I went for ZX6R Right way up forks which have good cartridges and Aprilia RS125 Wheels, Same size as MZ you have to turn the back wheel to get the chain run the right size. Assuming this is a Skorpion??
