Belts and Timing marks

Postby JulianMZRotax » Tue Feb 28, 2006 11:19 am

Does anyone know the part number of the cam drive belt? How often should they be changed? The Morini belt should be changed every 1 . 1/2 years.
Also I took the cover off and there is no white timing mark(to help start the bike) . Where should it go in relation to the timing mark on the edge. Just done 1000 Km's on the bike now and am enjoying it.

Thanks for your help

PM time guys
if your belt is over 3 years old or over 25,000 miles
it may be time to think about a new belt
these are very good motors do not ruin one guys

fresh belts can be had from
from ron wood at http://www.rotax.net

pm me here for a how to change it page
and inspect all parts in the area around it like idler bearings and the
bearing cover that runs aganist the belt
before placeing order

close inspection of the belt pulleys is in order as one site member
reported that a loose lower belt pulley ruined his crank to the pont the
pulley does not run true and will cause a full engine take apart to fix
maybe a new crank
