TS250 / 250/2 - Special Equipment - drawings or supplier?

Postby mhsilverw » Thu Mar 08, 2012 6:31 pm

As I suffer from an old injury to an ankle from sport, gear chaning can sometimes be painful or limits distances I can travel.
I noticed whils flicking through the parts list for a TS250 and TS250/1 there used to be special equipemnt available to use bike as Hand-Change...

Zubehör - Tafel 16
Werkzeug, Sonderzubehör

Item 4: Handschaltung auf Anfrage

Anyone know where such a part could be sourced from or perhaps the "drawing's" to make such a part (wonder if any one had such a drawing as I know there are drawings for tools etc in the manual).

here in the usa years ago a fellow made a shifter that had a heal lever
for up shift so shifting was always a matter of stepping down on front of the leaver pedal or the rear

i made a device that allowed a fellow to shift with his right hand like the old time bikes on the gas tank
also right side shift and brake made on same side
also a toe to go latching clutch pedal for a fellow with his left hand missing

and the best one was a side car where the wheelchair was used as the drivers seat
and the fellow drove from the sidecar

Check out the National Association for Bikers with a Disability website www.nabd.co.uk. They are a charity here in the UK dedicated to adapting bikes for disabled use. The Klictronic gear change system may be of help, the only problem I can see is that it operates on 12 volts, maybe it's time to call MZB?

The Ts250/1 can be converted to 12volt operation, fairly easily
