"Best" Carb for an ETZ301

Been putting some miles on my 301 - currently fitted with a Bing 84 carb.

After a fair bit of fiddling with air screw / idle / needle position it dosent ride too bad, virtually no surging and a reasonable pickup.

There is still room for improvement so I was wondering what carb would give the best all round performance. I have heard that an Amal MK2, or a Mikiuni VM 30 will do the job better than the Bing.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions / experience.

Some of course will no doubt say if it aint broke.......
