Building a Pathfinder...?

As part of the deal on Ts150 (which is now looking and running awesome) - I acquired a stripped and broken TS125. As a kid, I had a Pathfinder, so I'm looking to build something akin to a pathfinder... So, getting the tank and side panels will be impossible - anyone know of a petrol tank which is a similar fit to a Pathfinder... ?

never had a desire for a trail bike...when i was young i worked with my dad building houses

in a sea of MUD we has no back hoe or dozer . so i spent most days working with MUD at least knee deep


when i look at a trail bike the first thing i do is ....look at tire size so i can see if i can get street tires for it ..

I've emailed Greeves, so fingers crossed... I am having second thoughts on the TS150 though. I have a 'thing' about owning old bikes that I owned. I had a TS125 and a TS250/1, never had a TS150 so it may yet be up for a deal for a TS250/1...

I suspect that Wilf Green motorcycles are long gone. They were either the importer or a big MZ dealer in the 70's. Wasn't the Pathfinder one of their specials. I remember a test in Which Bike. I am sure it is in the attic somewhere. Its exactly what I am planning although I am not sure how to go about it short of looking at pics.

Yes it was a Wilf Green special but I'm sure I read some where that the tank was from Greeves... As it happens,no response so back to the drawing board.

I think the greaves connection comes from the shared name. I would guess that Wilf Green would have bought in some tanks ( and any other bits he wanted) from someone like Wassells who produced lots of aftermarket parts

Greeves Pathfinder (170cc Puch-engined "abomination", according to everyone I spoke to at the time (early 70's) with first-hand knowledge of them.........

Hi there Tony. I have posted on here before for advice on Pathfinders. I own an original one from 1983, I am the second owner and knew the first owner who got it direct from Wilf Greens in Sheffield, it currently has just short of 5000 miles on the clock and has been in my garage for the last 25 years. There are a couple of guys on here who are very knowledgeable about them and have built their own (very nice) 125 trail machines. I was advised that the one I have is possibly the last remaining one. If you wanted the original side panels and rear guard they were made in fibreglass. I know someone locally who constructs fibreglass hitops etc (he did the hi top for my vw camper and very good it is).If you wanted me to take the panels and guards to him to see how easily he could use them to make moulds and create new panels. The high level exhaust is very different too but again maybe could be fabricated(I had a full stainless exhaust system custom made for the vw van). The headlight id different from stock, the seat looks similar but shorter, the front wheel is 21" and the front pegs are different also but again could be fabricated. The gearing is slightly diffetent but only by virtue of sprocket size. The bars are different (but Renthals would be nicer anyway) and the tank obviously.
