Hello - I've just bought a 1956 BK350 and wonder if anyone else has got/ridden one as it is a little odd - especially in the gearbox department!
I also have an ES250 with the 4 speed box so I'm used to a rubbish gearbox but the BK is worse. It is very "grindy" on the change , especially going down the box. Are they all like this ?
It also isn't picking up very well at low revs , I think I need to check out the pilot jets in the carbs. I was quite surprised it has twin carbs! I'm pleased with it so far - it will confuse the hell out of folk at my local classic meet!
Any input gratefully received. Cheers, Andy

i have an r51/3 bmw 1953 it has a good box but it makes all kind of noise when shifting and missed shifts
are common
getting in a hurry shifting will usually cause it to miss a gear or find a false neutral
make sure you put in correct oil per mz manual mine shifted better with 40 w motor oil ??
and hope you can find parts when you need them
that 2 cycle motor was designed long before the big advances in 2 smoker tech in the early 60's
so much power at low rpm ???? is in doubt probably 3,000 rpm and up is the power band
