Poor tickover and bottom end power

After another complete clean of the carb due to a relapse in tickover performance.
I blew through every jet / orifice then As I put the carb back on I realised I had not blown through the two
overflow pipes which were tucked in behind the float bowl cover retaining clip.
They turned out to be blocked (being squeezed to the float bowl by the spring clip).
After releasing the pipes all seems well.

I think this was the main problem all along !
