Hi I've just purchased a ts250 supa 5 for a project bike . believe it one owner 630 miles for 42 years .
I will need plenty of advice from you guys like what's the best two stroke oil to use and what ratio to mix the owners manual states 50:1 and 32:1 when running in I think I guess mine is still running in .

I always use Rob Holusza for parts. Good gear, good prices and v. knowledgeable. He can be found on Facebook.

Another vote for Rob, but don't forget Burwins or the MZ Shop. I've also bought from Germany and would especially recommend KultMopeds.

I hope you've joined the MZ Riders Club - well worth it.

There are many various outlets on the Internet. I like to use MZ-B.Net but there are others like ost2rad and 'the mz shop' (based in UK).

As for oil, I bulk buy whatever I can cheapest and used to run 30:1 but now run 40:1 on all three of my MZs. Currently I am using from a 20l barrel of mineral oil for £60, and that's expensive in my opinion (oil, indeed everything has gone up).

Thanks for the responses I'm bringing her home this Thursday can't wait the exhaust tail pipe has had the chrome been attacked by the moisture so that and the down pipe I will need .
Any tips for cleaning up the cases and fins on the engine .

Welcome to the forum. Lots of contributors on here with much experience, and who can give you sound advice.
I wondered what had happened to the bike on eBay UK - had an eye on it myself.
As the bike has been in such long-term storage, you should prepare yourself for replacing tyres and tubes (and any other perishable items) and also crankshaft bearings.
Rob Holusza (on eBay at mz-parts-bristol) also gets my recommendation for parts, along with Burwins. If buying from Germany my first choice would be Gunther (http://www.guesi-motorradteile.de) who is a contributor to this forum, but I've also used ost2rad. I can't recommend kultmopeds ; I've had just one experience of buying from them, and it was a bad one.
Bear in mind that virtually all parts available are likely to be aftermarket, rather than OE factory items.
Oil is a nest of vipers/a matter of personal choice.....

I most probably paid too much for it but had it running today still not right will tickover midrange ok but high end not so good a little spluttery .plug colour was brownish after killing ignition.
Parts I need will be complete exhaust wheels rebuild ,some new chrome side panels for the tank .
But real nice to work on.

Congratulations on the TS.

I've been running my TS250 on various mixtures but following a discussion with a Bultaco guy about historical mixes and current oil, I think I'm going to settle on 40:1 for a while. Richer is leaving quite a mess.
Wheels: I stripped my barnfind's wheels and cleaned up the rims and hubs and rebuilt with new stainless spokes. I put a bit of satin lacquer on the hubs. A pair of Metzler ME77s completed the picture.
Vape electrical system was expensive but the rest of the bike was a gift. 12V and first-kick. H4 in the headlamp.
New chrome bits from ost2rad.
Did a 300km classic run on Sunday with my club.

Thanks smelly beard yes I need to respoke my wheels frame seems fine but tank and panels need paint or powder coat oh the exhaust has lost its chrome so I need a new one of those mudguards need a paint or powder coat and then I need to get out and enjoy it .

I had a look at your posted photograph. I like the imperfect used look. I wouldn't have respoked my wheels if they weren't rusted to hell. Your tank looks worn but nice. It all works well together and it's what I've being trying to achieve with mine. I put my rims in the dishwasher **-just water with no tablet-** to dull them back a bit after polishing (dishwasher tablets tarnish and darken aluminum terribly). My tank panels and airfilter panel were horrible too - as are my handlebars or "driver pipe" as ost2rad and google translate combine to name them.

Being a Supa 5 it should be run on 50:1, that`s what was intended for them. 2-stroke oils are even better now than they were when the Supa 5 came out.
I expect you know, but the more oil that is added the weaker the mixture becomes.

Whilst that is true, the difference is so negligible it doesn't matter. I think it's often overexaggerated the effects that it can have on a perfectly working engine otherwise. Personally, i've got almost 40k miles combined on a few MZs that I've used 40, or 30, or even 25 to 1 without any seizures due to this. Infact, it clearly doesn't matter to MZ themselves because on the ETZ manual there is no jet size difference between injection models and pre-mix.
