ETZ 250 help

Hi all.
I am a relative newcomer to MZ's having grown up with old British and latterly Japanese tackle.

The question I have is how the side panel attaches to an ETZ250.
The fitting parts on mine are badly bent / missing and I cannot work out it the spring on the panel enters the frame bracket from above, below or neither of these!

Currently using tie wraps but would like it correct if possible
.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Tom

The one on the right hand side that covers the battery and electrics?

On the ETz's that I have had the panel is held in place with a cranked lever that locates in a slotted bracket in the frame.

The lever is operated by a key, so there should be a hole in the side panel that the locking mechanism locates in.

See pic below of lock in the sidepanel.

Hi Tom,
In a word, below.
The 2 sprung tangs should snap into the 2 holes in the battery tray.
There should be rubber parts on the 2 brackets on the seat tube otherwise the panel will be loose.
I hope this answers your question.

Thank you both!
Very helpful.
My lock is missing the tab that engages the frame bracket and the bracket is very bent, but I now know where to go.
A bit of metal work and all should be well.

Thanks

Tom

Yes, it shouldn't be too much hassle to make up a bracket. This is it.
