For sale on ebay is a 1974 MZ151(the seller claims). It has a front disc brake and more modern styling than TS models of the same year. Is it really an MZ?
Anyone ever hear of one?--Steve

Hello
That is an MZ ETZ 150, built in the 80s. The owner seems not to be an expert in MZ matters :-)

buyers should be careful i have seen some strange ads and items coming out of south east Fla of late

they may be buying these used in the east block country's and reselling as collectible bikes
here and they are easier to get parts for ...the late 70 early 80's honda cx500 is nice but where i live
david silver in the uk is where you go for parts unless you luck into a parts bike

Hi-

That's certainly not a 1974! In fact, it's a 1980's ETZ 150. Given that it's fitted with the Brembo brake, I would say late 80s+. As far as I've seen, earlier ETZ 150s got drums, later ones got disk. I used to have the exact same bike when I lived in Asia, and mine was a 1990 model.

Disk or drum brake is not a matter of the year it was built, it is a matter of "standard" or "de luxe" model.
Most of the inside GDR sold models had drum brake, the export models that were sold to the western countries like West germany, France etc. had disk brakes.
