The mastif runs a tach so you could use one of those. Alternatively you could replace the standard speedo with an electronic aftermarket one .....there is one available in the UK originally for a Raptor fitment which I think is about £80 from memeory ......sadly I cant remember the supplier at the moment !!

Would this arrangement cripple your battery if you dont use the bike for a long time, garf?

We supply these tacho/speedos and the one fitted to mine was left plugged in for nearly 7 months, the battery still had enough life to turn the bike over! They are extremely low voltage...no worries!

Oh yeah, and slipstream sell 'em. Sorry Wonky I forgot that you had set up a supply when you were building the STMZ.

Is she completely finished yet with your motor and carb installed yet ?

You have been so quiet I was beginning to think you had taken your fat wallet and moved to Mexico :)

Cheers

Hi,
I purchased 1 from M and P for my Baghira, it took a bit of doing but after a few phone calls to M+P and their supplier i eventually got one. I mounted it onto the top yolk and connected up 4 wires and away it went with no problems. I you are ordering one make sure you ask for one that has a 60mm black face, goes from 0-8000 rpm has a chrome body and is compatible with a single cylinder engine, if they say that they dont do one then tell them that they do and to look a little bit harder. If you are getting no joy then let me know and i will give you my name and then they should be able to source it from my last order.

The Acewll digital units have a rev counter feed that goes directly to the CDI unit, funny thing is the CDI has one tab not being used on the Baggy and this is the feed to the digital unit that gives you an accurate rpm reading! Cheap too....
