CHARGING SYSTEM/STATOR OUTPUT

Postby frederickflintstone » Wed Feb 20, 2008 10:06 pm

Does anybody know the stator output of a stock 660 motor? I would like to fabricate an asymmetrical dual headlight for my street moto. I do not wish to drain the battery every time I hit the high beam. HOW MAY WATTS CAN I RUN? Not that I have any extra green pictures of dead presidents, but what are my options for a rewound high output stator? :?:

343 watts but after the bike gets done using what it needs 35 to 50 watts is a safe area 75 watts may leave you walking

and check out these 2 venders

http://www.electrosport.com/

http://www.trailtech.net/

both do lights and dual sport conversions and spedometers
ar dave

convert the tail lamp to led and the turn signals may get you a 20 watt savings
but the cost is BIG $$$$

we have a lot of deer in my area so i just slow down to 35 or less at night as hitting one is costly
he carry s no insurance

When I used my Baggi for commuting (not city traffic, mainly country lanes with not much, if any traffic) I had heated grips fitted during the winter as well as a pair of 55W halogen spotlights wired up to come on with main beam.
Never had a problem.

I put an led tail light on my last supermoto (xr600 dirtbike)(no battery) I kept burning out cheap bulbs.
the bulb was reasonable at the local discount auto parts.
I will look into led's for the turn signals, although that is a very small intermitant load.
