fuel leak on baghira

Postby dozzyd » Tue Sep 23, 2008 3:17 pm

Went onto reserve, rode for a mile and filled up, back onto main tank and rode home approx three miles to find fuel pouring out of the breather/overflow pipe under the engine ! It does it wether on main tank or on reserve. Any ideas please ? or am i in for a carb dismantle ?

Yes,
Chances are, your fuel float is filled with fuel. Probably a pinhole leak that filled over time. If not that, then the valve that is attached to you float that controls fuel flow into the float chamber. After doing any work in the fuel float area, make sure to adjust float height.

had the same problem on my new baggy after about three weeks of owning it,spoke to shop and suggested loosening drain svrew and allowthe petrol to pour out and clean the seat so to speak, been fine since, though quality of carb screw leaves a bit to be desired
