'New' Skorpion Tour owner

Postby nickst4 » Sun Nov 02, 2008 3:17 am

Just wanted to say hi. I picked up a lowish mileage 1999 Tour yesterday and am looking forward to riding it and taking part in this forum, though the traffic will probably all be one way until I get up to speed!
Cheers,
Nick, in Norfolk UK

Hi Nick,

Welcome to the forum. There are some top people on here and it's a mine of information about these bikes.

Any chance of a picture of your new beast? Ilm a bit of a voyeur when it comes to these machines.

testWell, I would post a pic if I could work out how to! I can't seem to get into the Gallery either.
Then again, I see some stuff at the bottom of the page, so...

That's a very nice bike Nick! Thanks for posting that - well worth the effort though. I like the mini indicators - much nicer-looking than the originals.

Cracking machine!

Errr, well, this weekend saw me replacing those horrid little indicators with some chunkier jobs from MandP!! Not only do they throw a MUCH better beam of light at a wider spacing, they fit better (they have a non-twist peg on the back), they are flexi-stem, and enhance the look of the bike, odd though that may seem. This is a minimalist style bike, and the addition of a few little extra points of interest is no bad thing, so long as it doesn't get out of hand. At the moment, I'm experimenting with highlighting the vestigial cooling fins on the cyl head, because that noble lump is very understated. Also, proir to getting the MZ, I was fixated on the air-cooled Yam singles....

By the way, thanks for doing the homework on bigger batteries; I can't believe the size of the original! Tayna are good people too.
