My Skorpi is off the road at mo, shelled a piston ring and it has damaged the barrel, also cam chain has stretched therefore unable to get timing right... So undergoing an overhaul.... New piston upgrade from 100mm to 105mm with (11.5 to 1) Rapter proX piston... Re-sleeved barrel... Probably upto just under 700cc now..... competition cam, cogs & chain... lightened flywheel... polished ports and re-seated valves.....
Holeshot re-jetting kit and K&N air filter... fuel pump removal.... My divi had one fitted and it ran much better with out it.. Totally unnecessary Yamaha fitment..
Also rear light mod to LED... Fed up with replacing bulbs... I have mod-ed the front headlight to accommodate two mini Cibie driving lights with halo
ring of LEDS.. Looks pretty good and so much improvement over O E one.....
I must also do something about that ski slope of a seat.... I get my balls crushed every time I take a pillion... LOL...
I have looked into changing the exhaust can, but have it on good faith from Dale Walker of Holeshot fame that the standard can fitted is well balanced
for Performance and torque.... If fitted with his race can & stage 3 carb jetting kit it will give minimal increase in top end only...
He also suggested keeping the standard air box but lose the lid and fit a fast air flow foam filter pad ....
The only real way to gain 60+ horses is to fit a set of slab side carbs on open twin trumpets with a TRX e c u (which lifts the rev limiter)... The carbs are a real bitch to set up & very expensive he says...
He also suggested ditching the heavy rims and fitting a Set off a SZR or TZR with Forks and rear swinger + shock.... For added speed off the line & stability.. You might as well hold out for a Replica... Incidentally there is one for sale on eBay (290274008533 ) with a start price of £1,700 in the south of England.. GOOD LUCK..
