after 7 years of Mz ownership (long may it last) i find myself in a harley dealership in chesterfield last month & before I know it i've booked myself a test ride on a night rod special. . .

Today was the day and to my suprise it was really good fun, ok its not much cop in the corners (but goes like stink !!!) but that's not the point. .

i'm hooked on the cruiser thing now (I'm never gonna sell the baggy, no way) but goddamn these harleys costs a fortune, £12,250 new

anybody got any opinions on the jap cruisers ?

everyone builds bikes
the Germans build motorcycles
damn shame theirs only BMW now
but look at them before you drop the nickle
as deprecation on a new bike is a pocket killer
and my local buy sell trade paper is full of harley's

ps theirs a bunch of them here i know at least 12 guys that use them as daily drivers
1 does 160 miles a day and has 2 r60/6 bikes Parkersburg wv to Charleston wv and return 4 days a week
April 1 to mid Nov

best daily drivers built = late 1970's bmw r75/6or/7 or same in r60 and yes the mz rt125 4t 2000 to 2007

Personly I would rather throw up than ever ride a cruiser again(had to ride them when working as bike mechanic in the 80's), they would have to be the greatest piece of (words fail me here but crap will do for now), that has been foisted upon the motorcycle community. Should have been killed at birth, and it really gets to me the way the journalists and testers suck up to the manufacturers(Advertising revenue at risk).know a couple of journos who have both said,"I have got to find something good to say about this". Steer clear you can't polish a piece of s**t.

Yeah right on there, consider them just a mobile waste of space on our roads, luckily most don't emerge from slumber 'til after I have returned from a ride, they only know one line through the bends,which is slow and right in the middle and its always through the best section.

I,m not too keen on the VROD but have my eye on this Stratoliner just under 2 liters

I found myself wanting a power cruiser last fall.......after a thorough comparison the V-rod came out on top as far as power/weight, handling, components, and aftermarket.

I HATED to see that because I’m as anti-hardley-ever-runs as they come…but damn they made a good case for a power-cruiser.

The v-rod does however haul some serious ass compared to anything close in it’s class

Two wheeled cars - and you get wet.

Proper cars start at 1000cc and as far as I am concerned that is where proper bikes should end.

I think this race for the most cubes is a one way street for biking, a dead end street.

Hope new MZ owners revive proper bike sizes. In the UK it is now 125 then 600 with only scooters in between - although, Honda and Kawasaki have 250 dual purpose machines, an interesting development.
