Fitting a Gilles AS31GT rearset to a Skorpion Traveller.

Hi,
Just thought I'd start a post documenting my experience of fitting a Gilles AS31GT rearset to my Skorpion traveller.
I started fitting the set as detailed here on Bill Jurgensons blog today

The left hand gearchange lever and footrest has been fitted with no problems at all. All it needs now is adjustment after a test ride.
The right hand brake side needs to have a longer brake hose fitted (circa 60cm long-currently between 50-55cm long) to the brake pump to allow for movement of the swingarm and to allow a natural curve on the hose without strain. The wiring of the brake switch needs to be lengthened as well.
If anyone has any advice on where to get a longer brake hose made it would be welcomed. I'd fit a new pump and rear caliper at the same time if I could afford it. I'll just have to make do with the standard OEM Grimeca for the time being (unless it's recommended on safety grounds).

HI,
not sure why the hose and wiring shouldn't fit. The pump sits higher with the Gilles bracket so the wiring should be, if anything, too long.
This is a stock Skorpion with those black rearsets I sent to you by accident:

Ralf assured me no changes were made here. He wrote, it took him about 1/2h. to mount the Gilles.
He has an EGU can and connector pipe mounted but that makes no difference.

I have an ABM steelflex line, tho that is not new or specific to the Gilles and a Brembo switch (typically Ducati) with cable, a modification I also did quite a while ago and did not need to change.

This puts the connecting plug up under the seat faring, away from immediate road water and dirt and boots, too. I always had trouble with those two sleazy flat connectors oxidizing and not making a connection, so the brake light do not light up. Of course, after a few "wiggles" the light worked again. BTW, I use the same hydraulic switch on the front pump, too.
