New Baggy Seat

Postby lcrken » Thu Sep 17, 2009 6:21 pm

I just had the seat on my Baggy re-shaped by Bill Mayer Sadles in Ojai, California. He's only 65 miles from me, so I was able to ride up early in the morning, and they fit the seat to me while I waited. It is a major improvment. Riding there was a painful experience, but the ride back was comfy. They also do mail order work, if anyone is interested. Not cheap, however. The total bill was $480. Worth it, though. I couldn't ride it any sort of distance before without a lot of stops. I posted a picture in my album (lcrken), if anyone is interested.

I haven't had it on a dyno. I orginally built it as a race bike for a local class, but took so long it was OBE. I just finished converting it to a street bike, and am still fine tuning the carb (Mikuni 44 mm). It is a blast to ride. It has an Axtell head and 860 cam. I had a similar spec engine, but only 600cc, in my road race bike some years back, and it put out 61 rwhp on the AMI dyno at Daytona. I expect this one to be somewhere around that, maybe even a lttle less with the muffled exhaust. Certainly enough for such a light weight bike.
