Found a good source if info. Its a german-language website called MZ 1000 Wiki. If you open it through google then the auto translator works and the translation is good.

The very same Tom. Replace them when you can as the symptoms are very misleading.

Found some interesting info. http://www.mcnews.com/mcn/technical/per ... 105_p2.pdf shows MZ 1000 gets 31.6 MPG
