TS 125 1984 has 'died'

Can anyone help!
Got this bike last year and it's started all the times I've tried it in the winter.
The other night though , it conked not far from home, No spark. It didn't cut out light switching off a light, it got me off a big roundabout - i'll give it that at least.
Wondering if it was because I had it out after dark for the first time (lights on )
I've charged the battery but still no spark.

do lights all other electric things work, ie horn indicators.
