At first I couldn't tell if this was the front or rear of the bike.I guess after seeing the two solid rotors it would have to be the front as the rear would need a drive point <sprocket/chain> Imagine trying to find a rebuild kit for the caliper even with the internet.And talk about heavy...

When I first got my drivers licenses I was driving along and a pretty girl was on the sidewalk walking along with a short mini skirt and high boots.Sure enough I look at her...a little too long.The car in front of me stopped and I hit her from behind and totaled my car 1970 ford mustang,not a scratch on the car I hit.
I was 18 years old and have never had an at fault accident since,lesson learned.

That is just a run of the mill leading link (or sometimes referred to as bottom link) fork, very common on sidecar bikes.

It acts a little like power steering on a 3-wheeled rig

Pretty hefty piece of metal though! I believe that these were car calipers (BL Mini, possibly?), but were fitted to various British bikes in the 70s.

I'M surprised as they looked real old on that front wheel.
Between that heavy looking rim and two of these heavy calipers along with the two solid disc rotors well that must be one heavy bike.

Heavy? Pah! These are the 'lightweight' racing calipers. The standard ones fitted to Triumphs in the 70s were made of cast iron!

So did you give her a ride John? She looks like she's ready to rock and roll, bless her. I have an aunt down in Boston the same age, and she would jump on your bike in a heartbeat.

Don no ride for her but I would take over home made soup all winter to her.

Her mind is very sharp ! She lost her husband a few years back and is all alone and right across the street so I would visit.

She has lived here in the same house for 50 years and I've been her neighbor for 18.

She took a liking to my nephew and paid him to rake leaves last fall and that made me feel good.

Good hardy New England stock. My aunt was born and raised in Pittsfield, NH, and she's sharper than I am. She moved down to Boston so she could take care of her son about forty years ago. Amazing woman. The ladies seem to go on forever, unlike us guys. Sounds like you're a good neighbor John.
