Postby elcaptain69 » Sun Jun 06, 2010 12:50 pm

Thought i'd upload a few new photo's from my latest project! (use link below). I have always wanted to change the front end but never found the right one..but i think i've got it now :smt007 I didn't want to change the "rugged look of the Baghira and I wanted to do the convertion to fork mounted..Well after a fair bit of fabrication... i'm well pleased with the result!

Thanks Dave... well the fairing is a (HEADLIGHT STREETFIGHTER ENDURO) from ebay...there are loads of them for sale. I paid £30 for one the same as this. I cut off the indicators and shaped the bottom of the fairing. The fork brackets £10 from ebay but only went to 35m/m diameter. My forks are 45m/m so had to do some alterations there  .. I'm a aero tig welder so i have access to varied equiptment/tools etc. Saying that..I did most of it at home in my garage..I have a mig plant at home which makes life a little easier. I know a local guy that owns a motor factors shop and he has the facility to make paint up in an aerosol.. so he did me a very good match..sprayed it all in my garage/workshop.. Primer / paint / lacquer = £25.. So actual project cost was about...£65.. Obviously it took me a couple of days to design and make the mountings etc.. but labour of love and all that! :? I can go into more detail of design + pics if you or anyone else are interested. At the end of the day I wanted a better headlight (twisty country roads where I live) and I wanted it to have a different look.. not that there are many Baghira's about!
