Help no power but full charge battery

So this am i started my bike let it warm up like usual and when to take of it died like it stalled, so i went to hit the starter button and nothing, looked down after putting the bike in neutral and the green light wasnt on. i turn the key a couple of times and nothing once again. i have done the following. Replaced the battery with a fully charged brand new battery, YES I KNOW HOW TO INSTALL a battery on a skorpion i did not blow a fuse. Checked all fuses numerous times, charged the old battery to a full charge and still nothing. Any thoughts or ideas on what should be done, It is my only for of transportation and i really need it.

Did you hit the kill switch on the right handlebar by mistake? Check to see if it is in the run position.
What happens when you turn the key to on? do any lights come on...tail or headlamp?
Dash lights? Could be a bad switch......How about in the Park position?

kill switch is in the "run" position and there are not any lights that come on when the key is switched on. i just tried turning the key on and lights came on so i hit the starter button and it clicked and went out turned the key again and nothing. im baffled

Disconnect the starter solenoid,and see if the lights come back on,if it clicked,it may be that solenoid....

so i got the lights to stay on and when i hit the starter button it clicks and cuts the lights out. im hoping its the solenoid, next step is finding one. :shock:

sounds more like your starter need worked on its stuck or the brushes are bad
or the start relay is passing enough current to drag battery down but not turn starter
the way i am reading above posts its something with starter motor

so i disconnected the male female connector that is attached to the solenoid and hit the starter button and the lights stay on, im leaning towards the solenoid being bad. but baffles me because the bike has less that 4000 miles wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh well hope i can fix it before friday.

Pay attention to what Dave says,as the solenoid is just part of that circuit..but it did isolate the problem a bit..start relay is another possibility along with the starter

Check out the sidestand cutout relay,right hand side, attached to frame behind tank. This has has failed on both of my skorps',I removed them completely and connected the 2 larger tabs with a fuse as a temp solution. Getting electronic boys at my workplace to build a solid state version.

I've fought this and was embarrassed by the fix...

Remove the battery cables and clean them and the terminals and then re-connect.

The battery placement on these bikes makes them susceptible to getting too dirty.

pay attention to the above post
may even be a bad wire on the plus or negative side either one

i have had trouble with crappy wire on all 3 of my mz bikes and some other brands
check and inspect both plus and minus wires and make sure the lug that grounds the minus is clean and tight
at where it hooks to bike and all lugs are clean and tight
in fact use a jump start pack on the ground and plus lugs right at the starter
and see if it cranks
if it does you have bad wires or lugs

do make sure you have no fuel leaks
don't want to get it fired up the wrong way

Sidestand relay, little black or grey box, mine is a Siemens brand, about 25 x 25 x12mm, 5 pins,only 4 connectors, join the 2 larger female spades on the wire harness using a fuse. Kill switch becomes inoperable as does sidestand,but live with it until you find a replacement. Mine gave out in heavy traffic on a multilane road,lots of fun,dead engine middle lane.

The earth wire that connects to one of the starter motor mounting bolts may be a poor connection. I noticed that when I removed my starter motor and then turned on the ignition my neutral light would not light. When I connected the earth wire to the starter motor the light went back on again. Check if the terminal is secure and clean it up before resecuring it.

Starter is on its way to the starter shop to be tested and make whatever repairs are necessary, This guy is the best in the business in my area. hopefully it works out. If so, then i will send my poor ft500 ascot starter as well. man i miss 290 pounds and 65hp that revs real quick.
