Cleaning a Baghira Carb

Hi Guys,

After my previous post ive been fiddling with my baghira trying to figure out the problem. The next job is the carb now but i havent taken one off a Baghira before. I remember cleaning out an old DR600 though. Just wanted to know the steps i should take and what to look for when im doing it.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I'd run some Chevron Techron or similar through a few tanks first if you think you are gummed up a little. Guess it depends on whether the bike runs at all, or just poorly maybe? Secondly you could spray some carb cleaner into the snorkels too, let it soak. If you really need to take the carbs off to clean them because you think the jets are clogged or gummed up, then just make sure you soak them in good strong cleaner for a while, spray out the bodies (or even dunk/soak them). You'll need to push the snorkels into the airbox to get enough clearance to slide the carbs out. If you take them off, it will at least give you a chance to check the needle heights and second carb activation height/setting, etc..

If it wont idle,but runs ok off idle(1/2 to full throttle)chances are ther idle circuit is gummed up...
I agree with Kman,run some Techron or Seafoam through the carb...
I had to fill the float bowl with Seafoam on mine through the fuel line and let it set..was a bear to start,it fire immediately,then quit..
finally cleared and idle was very smooth at 1500.....I always add some Seafoam at fill up....
