r6 forks on a skorpion

Fairly straightforward:

1999-02 front r6 forks
DRZ400 all balls tapered steering stem bearing kit
with this, triple clamps, forks, wheels, etc will all bolt in from the r6.

the same owner also implanted the R6 swing arm.

any decent 41mm RSU fork can simply be stuck in the Skorpion tripletree.
Over here, couple run around with a KAWA 400 front end, complete with 3.5" wheel and 280mm dual rotors.

HOWEVER, it only makes sense if you want the whole front end with 3.5" wheel and that only makes any sense at all for racing.
Fit with progressive springs, the stock fork is more thsn good enuf for street use and evem for club racing.
It is a lot better than the 41mm Paioli USD fork from the SZR.

Nice work, that's the first picture of an R6 front end that I've seen although several folks have talked about it. Can you post the bearing numbers?

For the CBR f3 fron end on my project Skorpion I went the "not so easy route and too expensive route" of having a custon stem milled - wish you would have do your project a few years back. I went with the F3 front end so I would have a matching from and rear wheel - the f3 rear wheel is a good fit with the vf500 hub.

I have a line on a complete ’03 R6 frontend. It appears similar to the 99-02. Do you known if the stem dimensions are the same?

Did you fit the F3 wheel/VF500 sprocket hub set to the stock swingarm? Which rotor/caliper/hanger/spacers/torque arm did you use?

I'm still working on the rear wheel set-up and have test fit using the stock swingarm and f3 rear caliper/hanger/disk. A slide track needs to be welded to the swing arm to allow the caliper hanger to move fron to back . The rear axle blocks also need to be bored out to 19mm for the rear axle. The great thing is that the f3 wheel/vf500 hub combo has the same sprocket to wheel center line as the stock wheel so no machine work is required on the hub. I looked at a R6 rear wheel and it looks like a lot of work to get the hub/front sprocket correct with the r6 wheel. Not an issue for James as he is using a different motor.

As Bill will note if your in Europe (or UK !) there are other better options (like TZR and SRZ wheels) that are a lot!!!!!!!!!!! less work but in the States options are very limited. Best option IMO is Replica wheel if you can find a pair (very rare) but I just bought a pair for my other Skorpion for $250 which I consider a real deal. Front needs a little work and a new disk but the rear is a straight swap.
