NOS SADDLE FOR SILVER STAR

Postby tmart » Tue Jul 13, 2010 6:04 pm

Folks, I have just joined this group (and it is very impressive) in order to find a Skorpion Traveller. I once owned a Saxon Tour, and while it didn't "grab me", the Traveller always has. Hope to join you guys on the road soon; will soon sell my BMW R80ST as well (another story entirely).

Anyhow, about 15 years ago a friend showed up at my house one day with a brand new saddle for a Silver Star, thinking I might want it for my Tour. I didn't, so I just stored it, and now that I can communicate with you guys, I'll offer it for sale. The saddle is unused (my friend said he got it from a freight salvage company, and the only other thing with it was a Silver Star tank which had been crushed.....flat, so he bought the saddle and brought it to me). Anyhow, it's brand new, it is the two-toned (black and gray) vinyl on a shiny galvanized metal pan (no rust), and on the bottom it carries the number "310194" rubber stamped on the bottom. The saddle has the two mounting tabs on the front and the two threaded metal studs on the rear. The only thing which keeps it from being perfect is a very small puncture of the black vinyl on the front skirt of the saddle (hidden by the tank) and some creases in the vinyl which occur from being in a box with BMW spares for about 15 years (and which I think will work out once the thing is finally exposed to sunlight). This would be a good base for a custom saddle or as a spare to keep your bike 100% original if you've customized the original one.

This saddle will be wrapped, boxed and shipped to anyone who wants it for $100, including shipping, within the contiguous 48, and I will use UPS Ground as the means of shipping. Anyone outside the contiguous 48 will pay shipping as well.

Thanks,

Tom Martin ("tmart")
