Mach As you have not told us why your engine light is on or what "search" you carried out then its difficult to help you. If you have carried out some sort of repair and the light is still on then be aware that it can take up to an hour of running before the light resets. The alternative is to reset it with one of the inexpensive fault code readers available on the market.

Mach John (iceman) is correct it should go out within a couple of hundred miles. I have obtained a cheap fault code reader that I use to reset spurious fault indications it is the "Memoscan U480" unit and I obtained it via E-Bay for about £30. I cannot give you any more info as there are no manufacturers details either on the unit or in the hand book. Good luck.
I may ride it to Daytona this weekend for Biketoberfest. I'm only 75 miles from there, trying to keep my rides short till I know the bugs are out of it from sitting so long.
