etz 125 wiring

Postby richg » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:38 am

I have bought an etz125 1993 and the engine had been siezed so i have picked up another engine which i believe is from a slightly earlier model. i have 10 wires in the loom coming to the engine (7 sleeved together and 3 together) having trawled the net i have managed to work out where the 7 seem to go but i am still left with 3 (brown / green / black with smaller female spade connectors) and no idea where they go to. I have attached a picture of the points i am sure the 7 wires go to. not sure if its to do with rev counter as the engine i have fitted has mechanical rev counter and the old one did not. unfortuanatly i did not have any of the generator / points or condensor with the old engine so cannot compare
Any help with where the other wires go to and if i have the 7 correct would be much appreciated

Hi,

According to some info sheets from MZ Riders Club:

3 black wires from the rectifier U/V/W on the engine loom go to the Alternator/Stator U/V/W
1 Green/blue wire from Alternator/Rotor DF on the engine loom go to fuse box 4th right (for Regulator DF 4th left in box)
1 Brown wire from Alternator/Rotor -D on the engine loom go to engine earth bolt airbox
Thats five wires so far

1 pure green wire from Contact Breaker and Capacitator to Ignition Coil direct
1 blue (smaller thickness on my bike) wire from Neutral Switch by chain sprocket to rear terminal block - continues then on blue on headlight base loom

To confirm original colours of wiring in this area are shown as: pure black; green and blue mixed; just green; just brown; just blue
