Yup, for a Laverda not heavy, tis true, down to 190kg from 245.
nope, it is not for sale nor has it ever been to England. Has been in the same hands since it was put together 1978, originally with Campa mag wheels,
and yes, that is a TDM front wheel which dropped into that original fork with those two TZ250R rotors as if made for it.
In the class one has to run 18" (or larger) wheels, no mags allowed and single pot calipers.
The rear is a 18/4" PVM but I have not been successful in garnering an affordable 3,5" PVM for the front so the TDM will just have to do.
Here a couple more shots.
The PVM rear wheel from the left side with the adapted Cagiva Mito caliper and, above all, the works 3-1 megaphone (not the buyable 3-1, this is a real works setup): what a glorious roar that thing makes. People come running thru the paddock to see if they heard right.
another from the right, the new=old rearsets much farther forward with my own milled steel adapters that have the face serrations to match the frame and reversed linkage. Also the rare SFC gearbox cover with the large oil filler cap and the Silenthektik
constant loss ignition. Since it is one of the early 180º engines, it is basically a 4 cylinder less one cylinder and we run a 4 cylinder ignition. There is no flywheel at all, let alone a starter. We made the side plate and ring adapter for the pickup as well.
here under the seat the SilentHektik
coils, with 160 mJ at 7000 they amount to arc welders. the ignition box itself is farther back, mounted on an aluminum coiling sheet metal under the seat. Also the 3 36mm Dellortos. the engine is a bastard: bottom end is heavily modified 180º 1000 with much lighter crank from 1977 with the 1200 cylinderblock and head from 78 along with racing cams etc.
A well tended stock triple is good for 100tkm without batting an eye.
