I seem to remember something about the Ducati Monster tail light fitting the Skorpion. Here's a pic of one from Wemoto.

If confirmed, you should think about going LED. There are plenty of aftermarket lights for that series Monster.

The Ducati shape definitely fits the Tour version as I bought one of those off of eBay but isn't the Sport light a different more rectangular shape?

Skorpion taillights are a problem, both of them.
After a few not very episodes with various diode taillights that also could not take the vibes, I bought a Hella taillight made for trailers and traktors. Outside of the EU, it is probably not an option but such round or oval "heavy-duty" stuff is made for the same purposes in the States.
The Hella is all-metal with threaded screws and two separate bulbs.
It has caused no trouble at all, not even a replacement bulb.

Yes Bill it breaks my heart to see desperate alternatives sometimes as I happen to restore classic cars for a living and want stuff original. I checked out the Ducati lights from the 750/900ss range and they have a slope on them. I wonder if Seymour powell who were the original designers had anything to do with influence on the lighting? Cheers Eric

Sure doesn't break my heart since the original stuff was crap anyway. As long as the original of the Tour lasted (a hell of lot longer than that of the Sport!), I never went anywhere without two three spare bulbs and the Phillips screwdriver...
I like the HELLA light. there is a round version, too.

pretty much all of them including mine

the Yamaha headlight of the Tour is nearly indestructable if you don't fall on it - and even then...
But the bull-eyes nonsense of the Sorpion is utter shit and was not used for my green bike at all. The later Sports and the Yamaha had/have it, tho and I hate it. They ALL fell apart internally and are not really reparable. The Yamaha has its second brand new headlight now. The other MZs got the TZR headlight (single H4 bulb) the green one had from the start.

Yes I must admit I have seen better lamps on Chinese bikes made of cheese!! That last lamp you posted would look cool on a Harley though (used to have a nightster)!!!!!

Oh by the way bill, I thought in Deutschland you had to keep things standard with all that TUV thing or have you got round it?

the lights must be approved and correctly mounted and correctly wired (e.g.with those dual small headlights now popular), that is all.
