front wheel total polish

in the process of sorting my baghiras front end... decided today... give the lhs fork side another coat of silver...while waiting for it to dry... took offf the front disk, and give it a real good clean, and polish....had a major job.. trying to get out the speedo magnet.. out my disk bolt took me ages... wheels came up a treat with autosol, and dremmel, and buffy wheel in my drill.... glad i respoked my wheel with polished spokes a while ago ..it looks mnt i take some pics sometime to show you all...

will be giving them another going over tomorrow, and will be touching up the hub also...

i hoping to get the rear wheel done this year.. my mate did the respoke for £75 with the polished stainless steel spokes... Bargain...

Looks good. Please take some pics of the buffing wheel, whatever you used. I did mine by hand, too much effort around the spoke nipples. I was thinking of trying to make some bobs with sheepskin wrqpped around the shanks of used flap wheels. The problem so far is that i haven't found any sheepskin. The 'sheepskin' polishing pads i've looked at are synthetic and they're stitched in such a way that i think i wouldn't be able to cut them apart to get pieces to make small bobs with.

hmm, i do have some felt bobs, but i thought they would be too hard. My latest idea was to cut some narrow strips of old fleece pullover and glue them to the worn-out flap wheels (little ones) - so it would be like flap wheels with soft stuff for polishing...to do the areas around the spoke nipples.

i got like a pointy felt bob.. and i got a dremler too with little felt bobs they is great.. for polihing the nipples... i does use peek polish or you cans use autosols.... that is good too....

the one i usered was likey the one on the bottom right of this piccy

Thanks. I ordered two of the tapered buffs and one non-tapered off ebay. I dunno why i never thought of them, i'd seen them at Caswells website some years ago.

no... running a halfords cycle speedo... been using it for about 3 years now, and its still on the original battery bloody brilliant... cost me about a tenner... and the pickup is a magnet out of a magnetic pick up tool... that is just sat in a disk bolt allen key hole... no need to stick it in, as it just stays in nice and super accurate too...
