Waterpump price!!! interchangeability??

Postby Alg » Sun Jul 08, 2012 12:29 pm

Ready for MOT but of course I can't stop the drip coming from the waterpump stub.
Under closer inspection I find both the inlet and outlet are cracked and I decided to contact Grahams Motorcycles for a new one only to be quoted £270 !!!!!!! So that's not going to happen.
I have spoken to a guy who lives near me who can alloy weld and repair the stubs for me but I think I'd rather look for a secondhand unit as he's quoting me pretty much the same price
From what I can see I need the part number 9020119000
I've seen a pump that's listed as number 121083 apparently from a Mastiff 1997-2003 that looks in very good condition and identical however looking at parts fiches for the Mastiff the waterpump is listed as 9020119000.

Does anyone know how they may differ? Is it just cosmetic or maybe flow rate?? Do they differ?
Anybody have any idea?

Thanks
Alg

Thanks so far guys.
Forgot to say my engine is a 4NN lump of unknown age so I'm hoping that doesn't make a difference to your advice.

I did get the waterpump and it was like new.
Here's my 4NN lump sitting nicely in the Goose frame. It runs just beautifully and I can't wait to get it on the road.
Off for MOT either this weekend or next week but there's a clicking noise from the front end as I wheel the bike around but it's not always when the bike is rolling forward or backwards. I'm going to check the speedo drive is correctly seated at the front wheel. I'll have to sort that tomorrow. Then insurance, then tax, then fun.
Some pics:
I realise there's a hose off the waterpump.

Might just be the pads as there's no anti-rattle spring fitted on front caliper.
