Need to raise the rpm a little

I need to raise the rpm on my Skorpion racer.
Looks like the rev limitter is right now at 10.000 rpm, I would like to get it up to 11.000 - 11.500.
Anyone knows how to do this?
Do I need different ignition or is there something I can do on the stock?
My bike is still making power at 10.000 but the rev limitter will not let it go, and I need it!

Do a search for ignitech Sparker - you can program these to whatever rpm limit you want!

You might want to talk to Bill J about that one. I think there is an AWFUL lot you must do to these engines to get them to run at that rpm for very long. What box are you running to get 10,000rpm in the first place? The stock module cuts off in the mid to low 7000 range and the other non programmable units that I can remember reading about cut off in the 9's somewhere.

can't bee accurate.
The OEM box cuts out at 7200 dependably.
and there is is no way in hell you'll get that engine to run 10000, let along more, and not explode within minutes.
9000 is about the limit and that only in short bursts

Well the 10000 was run on dyno, but just before that it startet cutting out. I'm going to look for the dyno result and will try to post it that you can see.
It was making about 43hp at this altitude before the engine was build.
Now it's making about 56hp still with the same bore (660).
Do you think I should stay with that 10000 limit just to be on safe side?

Not the mention, before I changed the tach it was going all the way over 9000.
Maybe someone did some work on the bike before I bought it?
It was raced before I got it.

Ok guys disregard the first post about the 10000 rpm. I was in a hurry and looked at the results wrong Stupid me!!

That explains why my new tach is showing around 7000 when I race before it cuts out.

Anyway, I might contact Sam about that other box that I can raise the rpm a litle, as the bike is still making power before it cuts out.
What will you recomend as the limit? 8500?

Oh and the box I have on it says 4MY-82305-00. I asume that is the stock box.

Yes that is the stock box.

This is an Ignitech Sparker I set beside the stock box for reference. Note that it's case doesn't have the mounting points that the stock unit has. Though the size is close you'll have to figure mounting it in some custom fashion.

Also the price has dropped since I bought my Ignitech Sparker, around $200. US.

I found this picture showing advance curve and rpm imput points.

I don't know if this is an example of factory shipped or tuned for better performance, it's just an example.

This post has the curve of the stock box as well as the curve that comes on the ignitions that Bill sells.

So far my best results have been to mirror the stock box up to the 24 degree @ 3000rpm mark. My next point is 39 @ 5000rpm and then a linear curve up to a maximum advance of 43 degrees @ 8500rpm. If you have a high compression piston in there, you may want to work your way up to the maximum advance.

and do not forget that gear on the balance shaft and its key that goes bad
change it...
or you may waste an engine

Fwiw, the solid balance gear from the 700 Raptor can be had for cheap on EBay; they regularly go for under 20.00. Not the wisest thing to mix used gears but it's not like this is a heavily loaded application. Try to buy both in a set.
