I know, I've often been tempted but it really is a rip-off. Although i did see something recently that said the tubing is very expensive and it is only sold in...hundreds of feet or something. (It is on superduke.net) But still, it needs those "heat protector" strips and he even suggests 2 heat protector strips for some applications. Some people have used some or other heater hose.
So, what is the tubing at Lowes and Home Depot for? Maybe I can find the same stuff here somewhere.
Oh and he even sells them as half length and full length - around the circumference.

I will double check and find out... I want to say it's heater hose but i've never seen heater hose THIS thick with such a small inner diameter... I mean seriously the stuff is like 8-10mm thick w/ both layers. My exhaust is carbon, but my friend is rocking this on his wr250x exhaust as well and he's had it on for two years and crashed literally 20 times. Still looks gangster.

watch the plus and minus on wires
usa red = plus black = ground
germans use brown for ground
some use house wiring colors black is hot white is common (english say earth)

and china is doing weird stuff
get a volt meter and test it before assuming any thing

it hard to figure out what was wrong if you hook it up wrong and it smokes

I get from 31 to 45 mpg depending on how I ride w/ a 15/45 Sprocket setup. It's wierd because I get awesome gas mileage when I am doing the backroads romping on it... and if I'm just cruising around lugging it around I get a little crappier mileage

I think you meant 41 to 45 mpg. I can't imagine 31 mpg, even in the worst case scenario. But it's true, I'd expect better gas mileage if you don't lug the engine. Keep the revs up, as they say.

Now, I'm trying to find the small foot-rest that bolts on the rear brake pedal. This bent when my bike went down and has since broken off. I've been to several bike dealers, and I've shown them the broken piece and ask if they have anything and the answer is always the same - the entire pedal needs to be replaced because on most dirt/dual sport bikes, it comes in one piece. I guess MZ is rather unique in that regard.

Anyway, there's just enough of the footrest left for my boot to claw on so I can still use the pedal, but it would be nice to replace it without having to replace the entire pedal.

I seen people drill a hole, double nut a bolt the right length, and put a piece of rubber hose over the bolt. If you used a carriage bolt, it would look finished without doing anything else. SS of course.

The Husqvarna SMS 630 uses one that might be the same as the MZ. I'm eventually going to go the bolt route myself once mine finishes breaking off.
Good luck, Ed

Nope... I meant 31 :( I've been getting some shitty mileage, but I've been ripping the shit out of the bike only city though recently. Not sure why... I have been lugging it it seems I like the FLAP FLAP sound haha, but that must not be the ticket. I wheelie every chance I get as well. I'm sure that's not ideal for mileage either

Eff replacing the pedal... here's the solution the previous owner had on my bike...

i challenge you to post a video on youtube of you pulling wheelies and general thrashing it around , i would love to see if you bike handles any different to mine ,dont know wether its just me but my baggie hates plodding along in traffic,,uses up first gear really quickly when you open her up on an open road , (bloody rev limmiter).plus , if i see someone else do it theres no reason why i cant , bikes are the same ,,so post on and provide the link,

just an after thought ,

photos in the gallery are fine but what about a sticky thread with links to members youtube videos ,
im gonna do a walkround of my pride and joy and post it also , so make a thread for me :smt007

my traveller has always had what i call bad mileage...
about 90 to 100 miles and fill it up ..
its cheaper to run my VW diesel car
but many things were modified on my bike when i got it ..
i have not had time to take off the carb and check the jets and see if its clean
and has the proper jets...i doubt it does as the picture in my
gallery shows it with an aftermarket pipe...
picture taken by the past owner..

not a fan of mods so told seller i wanted original pipe ...
so will probably be on the hunt for some stock jets for the original carb
or the ones Bill says work best for a stock set up

I'll get one when I can... Handles pretty good, really well actually. I lowered my forks again as they were way too high in the triples... this raised the bike a little bit and changed the rake angle enough (from the prev owners height) to where it's not twitchy anymore. What rear sprocket do you have? I'm rocking a 45 (down from a crazy 49!!!). It still wheelies easily in 1st, 2nd comes up but you have to yank it and it has to be at low rpm (maybe like going 18-21mph starting). I don't have a camera but I ordered one this week from china hehe. I'll get a video for sure but might take a few weeks to get it in...

Yeah, I'm around the same... I'd say usually if I'm being silly it's around 90-100 miles max. It's too fun not to ride it without worries though!
