Ral color

Postby dee2me » Sat Sep 15, 2012 2:32 pm

Hi. I got a 1997 scorpion traveller and scratched the underside a bit.
Anyone knows the color code of the green version?

Colours from the Skorpion parts book: The first three digits are MZ's ordering code, and some of the colours have their RAL number (Standard colours used in the paint industry).

190 dark black RAL 9005
200 mint green RAL 6029
220 traffic white RAL 9016
240 signal yellow RAL 1003
270 aquablue, pearly C5U
280 brilliant black metallic A9V
290 classic green pearly C6V
350 bordeaux, pearly C3Y
360 tornado red Y3D
370 turquoise metallic B6T
380 blue pearly LZ5M
390 green classical C6U
400 orange RAL 2008
A10 avant garde blue KI2NM6B
A20 cobre natural ICI ELT2B
A30 flintback metallic NH526M-4
A40 ferrari red 304
A50 light red mica ICI7KW6B
A60 Iceland metallic ICI8MT1B
B10 cup green/white polished
900 special finish

As you can see, there have been a number of different greens, but as the paint used was standard VW/Audi colours, it would be worth checking at a local dealer.

my traveller came out a close match to c6v

290 classic green pearly C6V

i have seen it also called hunter green and black forest green

in some light at times it is almost black

the bright green used on some racing bikes is called arab green its used on flags in the middle east

Any idea what this would be - thinking of painting my ETZ250 in this as I just love it!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:MZ_ETZ250.JPG

Was it a standard colour supplied on UK imported bikes?

Some say DDR Olympic Blue but wondering if there is a 'RAL' equivilent available in the UK?

the blue in the etz link is very close to a blue used on some bmw bikes shipped to the usa since 1970
one i saw was a K75 about the time they first sold the K75 models

http://www.rsbikepaint.com list the k75 colour as king/royal blue. If I remember it rightly it was metallic, not plain as MZ would have used at this time. the only colour they list for the ETZ20 is red/orange.

Kings/ Royal Blue Pearl

but there was one for bikes 1970 to about 77 i can not find it

krylon makes a paint for plastic fusion its about the color of the dark blue in the mz riders header
at top of header bottom is to light

attachment is krylon sample remember html sends color with a string of numbers your computer may
give the color ok or off in the next shade

my rt125 is getting a make over in this color this winter
i am thinking need to prime with a bright white on the base black so its not toooo dark when finished
