problem with Baghira gearbox

Postby rad » Mon Oct 08, 2012 2:13 pm

Hello
Recently my bike developed a strange, clanking noise coming from gearbox. :(
I'll be investigating this in next couple of days, so my question is- can I get access to it without splitting whole engine?
cheers

Looking at the exploded diagrams on Grahame's website I suspect not. Most unit engines require splitting to do anything to them. :(

I only mention the balancer gear issue hoping that terminal damage doesn't happen to your engine.
Replacing a few internals is a lot cheaper than the cases and a who knows what. Know that my statement is speculative with your best interest in mind.

I started taking the engine apart. I guess I was right
It looks like one of the cogs is missing a tooth or two...
Here's the video with symptoms.
