Hydraulic clutch conversion.

Has anyone tried converting their clutch cable over to one of the hydraulic systems on the market. There seems to be mixed reviews on the forums so I took the gamble and picked up one of the Streamline Billetanium units with the ASV lever. Some say they are like on/off switches but I've ridden a KTM 690SMC and several trail bikes with factory hydraulic clutches and they all worked flawlessly.

PS: Good idea. The way the clutch cable routes on the Baghira, it's always a bit hard to pull, even it's lubricated.

Installation complete for now. I'd like to add another 1/4" or so to the bolt that screws into the engine case, as well as the spacer, to relieve the angle on the slave cylinder a few degrees. Evidently the Raptor case is quite different in that area because there is no way that the Raptor kit will fit the Skorpion without a few little tweaks, but it does work. I also had to notch out part of the switch housing to allow clearance for the clutch lever. It didn't hurt my feelings too bad because once I get most of the components in place all of the switches are to be relocated when the simplified wiring harness gets built and the tear down/paint/rebuild happens.

I dont quite like hydraulic ... however the MZ's adjustment less clutch lever post is a disaster ... this looks mighty good now ... If only I can go to the cam style as in the 660 motor from the push rod of the GS500 motor I'll be thrilled.

hydro is better in every way IMO. I had one on my zx7r and it is one of the only complaint I have a bout the MZ. I think this will be on my list here, what an awesome kit. I wish it hooked up a little better though. I'd feel more comfortable if they had a bracket or something off of the frame aside from the case bolt.

I'd go with the Magura if I had to do it again. It's a little more money but appears to be a superior design and uses a stock style bracket, if not the actual stock bracket.

Thanks for this post! My left hand has developed a case of carpal tunnel so using the clutch on my Baggie has been a pain in the wrist!

Took your advice and ordered the Magura kit. Figured I would try the Raptor 660 kit and hope for the best. Worked pretty damn good. The actuator on the clutch end is way too long for the Baghira but there are ordering instructions to get an actuator the proper length. I just piled a bunch of washers until the length was correct. The clutch lever fits without any modification to the switch housing but the angle has to be just right.. cannot rotate it too much.. But for me, it ended up where I wanted it anyways.

The action is smooth and light... no more wrist pain.

yeah mine is rite stiff too and takes me a few weeks to get used to it once i start riding it... the magura hydraulic looks a lot better than that setup there...same as on raptor quads, it uses the same bracket on the clutch....
