Skorpion sprockets and chain

Postby Berniecal » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:36 am

Hi Guys,
I have the standard 15/39 sprockets and would like to change to maybe 15/41 or 43. Any recommended sources and part#s for sprockets and chain? I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Would prefer a dural or similar rear sprocket, and a non-oring chain.
The ice is mostly gone and there's thousands of kilometers of beautiful roads out there. Yessssss!

I have ordered a 43t from Esjot. Part# 50-32048-43. Thanks Dave!

After a year and 4000mls with the 43t rear sprocket, I have gone back to the 41in the interests of longer legs. 4000rpm and 65mph is very satisfying. The 43 would clearly be better in the city, but I live out in the wilds and do little or no city riding. During that time I also cleared up my carburation bugs, and now it pulls cleanly from 2500 (with a whisker of throttle), and pulls like an ox from 4000 to redline. Full throttle feels smooth from about 3000, but Bill J's advice to rev it, is always in the back of my mind! Also changed to a non-oring chain so it can be lubed. (I hate oring chains, designed by the marketing dept.)
I've owned a lot of bikes, but I must say the Skorp is growing on me year after year and is a keeper.

Hi Dave,

A bit off topic. How did you get you Tours regesterd in Canada given that it was never imported? I've got a friend in Ottawa who was intrested in one of my Sports but the transfer to Canada was a killer.

Thanks

I'm Bernie, in Nova Scotia. In one of the posts above I was saying thanks to Dave for the contact info for sprockets.
My Tour was originally sold in New York, the owner moved to Calgary so it was imported to Canada as part of a change of residency. I bought it in 2008 and moved back east to Nova Scotia in 2010.
I have imported a U.S. bike (TMax) and found the process fairly painless, as long as you read and follow ALL the instructions.
See http://www.riv.ca but not sure if the Sport is listed.
