my gpz does the same, more so on a hot day and opening the filler either allows more air in or out not sure which and i suppose that noise will be there when riding but your not going to hear it over the sound of everything else.
never noticed it on the mz but that has a breather dia of about 3mm now i have drilled the pipe holder out

Is this what you have Image

If so they are ment to be vented somehow, might be worth looking it over.

Hi

The lack of a vent has got to be most,if not all of your problem i think.

You can always run it initially with the cap off or loose.

Its got the original cap with vent hose, will be leave that loose (and checking I can blow through it)

Anyone have any advice on how to get the float pin out? I cant seem to shift it and I dont want to be hammering at it.

Do I remove in the the direction of the arrow? Should I expect to have to wack on it with a hammer?

Put "float pin" into the search bit of the 660 forum and there's lots of advice.

Whatever you do don't "wack it" as you'll ruin carb.

I had aa look round here and on some other forums for xtz's.

Just wanted to be totally sure that I REMOVE in the direction of the arrow.

Had a dream lastnight where I snapped off the arrowed pin holder, shudder.

I'll borrow some more precision made pilers and have another go tonight. Might try the solder iron heating trick as well.

Hmm just seen the seller of my baghira has just put up an exhaust for sale.

Scorpion pipe & link pipe. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MZ-baghira-ma ... 4d08741d1f

Hmmm wonder why he didnt mention he had that when he was selling the bike to me.

Also these wont fit a baggy, seller should know better really. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MZ-skorpion-s ... 4d08743350

Sigh...

I stripped my carb a few months ago, and cant remember taking out the float pin.. i just stripped them all down, cleaned all the galleries, and put back together.. seeems to run better since....

what i also did was adjust the carb balance so that the secondary carby comes on earlier, and it seems to be loads quicker since...

I cleaned my carburetor last autumn, and I had to be quiet brutal to get the pin out.
But it was there, behind the small filter that most of my problems where gathered. Then it was time to put the bike into winter storage…

Already got my spare set off a xtz660 for £40.

I'm a bit of a spares ebay addict.

Thanks for the spot though!

Finally got the carb back in the bike as of yesterday.

Tank on and added some fuel today, fired up and doesnt appear to have any issues revving up like it was before.

Neutral light is dead though. Every other light, electrial thing works.

Getting the two tubes back on the rear of the carbs, from the airbox was a pain in the arse and it felt like the oil pipe and other stuff was getting in the way.

If anyones got some idea as to what to check through for the the neutral light it would be appreciated.

Anyway it was good to have it fire straight up after being it bits for so long.
