Skorpion front brake caliper

Postby trident sam » Wed Feb 13, 2013 2:48 pm

Anyone know what other bikes (if any) were fitted with the 4 piston Grimeca caliper as used on Skorpion front brake.
Thanks

The Grimeca caliper is a poor copy of a Brembo caliper, and these make a better replacement.

I'll second that. The Brembo is just a better item.

I say Brembo as well. You can find them new for a bargain if you take your time looking around, and the anti-rattle spring for them is readily available. The Grimeca can sound like a paint can full of rocks sometimes.

Ok Thanks for replies fellas. I take by direct copy you mean all mounting holes are the same distance apart etc .
I wished I'd knew about the Brembos before I bought some used Grimecas, they are going on my Norton Commando, anyway, the Gimecas will certainly be better than the original calipers.

Yes the Brembo caliper I gave a link to is the same, but made from better material.

But I must say in Grimica's defence, that the one on my Skorpion works perfectly, though it's nice to know there is a better replacement available.

Yes, mine works great on my Skorpion aswell, that's why I hunted around for a couple of used ones.
cheers

I too have yet to upgrade and think that the stock caliper works fine once you modify it to use the Brembo springs. The stock master cylinder on my Skorpion, however, was total crap compared to even the cheapest Brembo. I highly recommend upgrading that when you have the funds.
